Tomorrow (March 24, 2021) is the 7th annual Red Cross Giving Day. This means it’s time for us to dive into the world of generosity and humility as we thank those who give what they can in support of the mission of the Red Cross.
Approximately every eight minutes, the Red Cross meets a family that may have lost everything to a home fire or other disaster. Your donation can help in the minutes, hours and days after a disaster because #HelpCantWait.
Here are some easy ways to get involved:
DONATE
One of the easiest ways to contribute to the Red Cross is to make a financial gift. Financial gifts help fuel the mission of the Red Cross to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. Through generous donations and dedicated volunteers, the Red Cross can help communities affected by disasters, teach lifesaving skills, support military communities, assist in international emergencies and so much more. Your support makes a difference.

GIVE BLOOD
Another important way to get involved is by donating blood. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. The Red Cross collects, processes, and distributes about 40% of the nation’s blood supply. This means the American Red Cross must collect enough blood every day to meet the needs of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. You can help ensure blood is available for patients in need.

TAKE A CLASS
Become a student of the American Red Cross, while obtaining life-saving knowledge and skills designed to keep you prepared in an emergency. Courses may be available online, in-person, or a hybrid (part online and part classroom). Our comprehensive courses include first aid, CPR/AED training, lifeguard training and more.

VOLUNTEER
More than 90% of the incredible work performed by the Red Cross is accomplished through the hands of Red Cross volunteers. You can join these heroes in making a difference in North Texas. There are multiple ways you can volunteer.

It is no secret that in the 21st century social media serves as the cornerstone of social and cultural activism and is the gateway to many different forms of education, awareness, and interests for people around the world. At the Red Cross, we like to take advantage of this global connectedness and use our platforms to better connect with the people we serve.
Whether you have made a financial donation, given blood, volunteered, or taken a course, share your experiences using #HelpCantWait to help inspire others to make a positive difference in North Texas.
