Thank you for your generosity

By Arti Sharma, American Red Cross North Texas public affairs volunteer

As 2017 comes to a close, it is impossible to not reflect on the unprecedented events that occurred in the duration of this year—events that we experienced together as a nation and left a lasting influence on history.

In the last few months alone, there were moments that left us standing in silence, gazing upwards, in pure wonder.   In stark contrast, there were those heartbreaking momentsmoments that brought us to our knees in the hours filled with anguish and despair, as we watched some of the most catastrophic circumstances threaten to shroud any trace of light with an all-consuming darkness.

Yet, in those same moments of uncertainty were ones that showed the face of hope.  In each of those, it was you, your humanitarian and philanthropic spirt that helped bring to focus the very essence of humanity.

These are the moments that endured, that inspired us, and that filled our hearts with a deep gratitude that goes beyond the confines of words.  Through kindness and generosity throughout the year, you shaped the course of history and have made a lasting difference on the lives you helped impact.  For this, we are forever grateful.
