Shelter Locations:

The Red Cross shelter located at First Christian Church, 2109 W. Hwy 377 in Granbury, Texas will be closing at noon on Tuesday. It’s expected that the remaining residents will be able to move to new residences tomorrow. At this time, two people are expected to stay at the shelter tonight. The shelter in Parker County has closed.

Casework Services:

Over the weekend, Red Cross caseworkers were also available in Hood and Parker counties to help families begin their recovery. With most families having received their assistance, Red Cross will transition casework to an appointment process. Anyone who had flood damage should speak with a Red Cross caseworker about the types of assistance available by calling 1-817-335-9137. Assistance for minor damage can include clean-up items such as bleach, mops, squeegees, gloves, sunscreen and lip balm. Families who have sustained major damage or lost their homes completely can speak with Red Cross caseworkers about the types of financial assistance available. Mission Granbury is also assisting flood victims in Hood County so residents are urged to also contact them as soon as possible.

Disaster Assessment: 

With 90% of the disaster assessment complete, the Red Cross has determined that at least 140 homes have sustained major damage or have been destroyed by the flooding or the inaccessibility of an apartment unit.

The Road Ahead:
