Did you know the American Red Cross actually offers more than just CPR classes? Surprised? Good.
For the past century, the Red Cross has been the go-to-guy for information regarding how to prepare, plan, inform and educate the public about emergencies before they happen. We want you to have the confidence to act in times of need.
The Red Cross has a Disaster & Safety Library for literally everything, and it would be wise to bookmark the landing page for future reference! Here is a quick run down of each category:
- Chemical Emergencies
- Food Safety
- Heat Wave
- Highway Safety
- Home Fire
- Pet Safety
- Power Outage
- Water safety
- Winter Storm
See, I told you, everything!
Besides natural disasters, the American Red Cross also wants you, your family, classmates and coworkers to be “Red Cross Ready,” by having a checklist for potential emergencies most likely near you.
Jamie Lee Curtis and the Red Cross put together a video to help customize your specialized emergency kit. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so check it out!
The Red Cross offers numerous training classes for the public. A majority of jobs require a knowledge of how to aid in emergencies, from first responders and paramedics to babysitters and teachers in the classroom.
